Joanna and Rob were married at the beautiful Bryant Park Grill. It is one of my favorite venues to work at because of the opportunity to shoot in the park and at the library and because everything always seems to go according to plan. They really know what they are doing there and the food is fantastic. We had a nice window of time to shoot formals before the ceremony so it was nice taking our time around the city and enjoying the afternoon. It was a lovely, laid-back and wonderful day.
I always love wandering around Central Park close to sunset shooting engagement photos. It's a peaceful break from the bustling streets of New York and there is a sense of tranquility in the park which isn't easy to find in New York City. I always wished I lived closer to Central Park while in the city so I could visit more easily and go running there. There is always a lot of activity and a lot of exercise going on. Sometimes I need the inspiration. Much like the park, Michelle and Jimmy seem to have a peaceful and easy relationship with one another. They are both very sweet and soft-spoken and it was just relaxing being around them. I know their wedding will have the same vibe and I'm really looking forward to it!
May was a gorgeous month of weddings for me, and it also ended practically thirty days ago. I am trying to catch this blog up with all of the beautiful events I photographed last month. My first May wedding was Stephanie and Rob's. They were one of the easiest couples I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Thanks to both of you for trusting us completely all day, it was gorgeous and the pleasure was ours. Georgi and I had such a fun time shooting, it didn't even feel like work. It's always a privilege to work with clients who trust I'm doing my best and allow me to be creative so thank you, thank you!
Jessica and Steve decided to have their engagement photos at Liberty State Park and although I've shot there multiple times before, they showed me some new spots which made me love it even more. We wandered along the docks by the boats and shot around the new 9/11 memorial which was just erected in the past year or so. Of course the NYC skyline is always a breathtaking backdrop so between all of that and the train station, the park was such a versatile place to shoot and I was really pleased with the way these turned out. Steve and Jess, you were so fun and easy to shoot, thanks for being up for anything and for showing me around a park I thought I already knew!
Sarah went to school with my husband, Jeff, so I was thrilled when she contacted me about shooting her wedding. Plus, isn't she a stunning bride? Sarah was part of a gospel choir at Penn State and she was able to have them perform at her wedding ceremony. It was so moving it made it difficult to work! I had to focus on not getting caught up in the music, they really made you feel so much. It was a beautiful gift that they were able to give Elliott and Sarah and all of their family and friends.
I love April weddings. If I had thought of it myself, I might have planned my wedding around cherry blossom season. They remind me of home. We had two cherry blossom trees in our front yard growing up and they always seemed their proudest right around Mother's Day. The pink flowering trees were always so appropriate for my beautiful mom :) I loved what Sarah did with her centerpieces. The venue just looked gorgeous. Thank you so much to Sarah and Elliott for trusting me to capture such an important day, you make such a beautiful couple!
