Kathryn and Will agreed to meet me at 8am (gasp) on a Sunday morning.  I was thrilled with the early sun and the photos turned out to be some of my favorite engagement photos yet.  I always love shooting in the West Village because of the variety of backdrops available.  I loved the simplicity of Kathryn's outfit and both Kathryn and Will had fun with the shoot, which, at 8am, was way more than I could have asked for!  I was actually surprised at how many people were out and about by the time we were finished.  I definitely wanted to crawl back in bed :)

I always love wandering around Central Park close to sunset shooting engagement photos.  It's a peaceful break from the bustling streets of New York and there is a sense of tranquility in the park which isn't easy to find in New York City.  I always wished I lived closer to Central Park while in the city so I could visit more easily and go running there.  There is always a lot of activity and a lot of exercise going on.  Sometimes I need the inspiration.  Much like the park, Michelle and Jimmy seem to have a peaceful and easy relationship with one another.  They are both very sweet and soft-spoken and it was just relaxing being around them.  I know their wedding will have the same vibe and I'm really looking forward to it!

Jessica and Steve decided to have their engagement photos at Liberty State Park and although I've shot there multiple times before, they showed me some new spots which made me love it even more.  We wandered along the docks by the boats and shot around the new 9/11 memorial which was just erected in the past year or so.  Of course the NYC skyline is always a breathtaking backdrop so between all of that and the train station, the park was such a versatile place to shoot and I was really pleased with the way these turned out.  Steve and Jess, you were so fun and easy to shoot, thanks for being up for anything and for showing me around a park I thought I already knew!

Stephanie and Rob wanted to have their photos taken in Philadelphia and we had to reschedule the session due to an October snowstorm, if I remember correctly.  It ended up being so cold on the day of our shoot but they both looked so cute bundled up for the weather.  I think the cold temperatures also encouraged them to cuddle up a little tighter for a few of the shots which turned out looking so cute.  Here are a few of my favorites which prove that Spring and Fall are not the only seasons for engagement photos.

Amy and Dave introduced me to the beautiful town of Tenafly in New Jersey.  I always love shooting in new places and this little park Amy found was perfect, in spite of a dolled-up birthday girl and her countless "birthday-maids".  What we witnessed was like a teen wedding complete with a bus-limo, photographer and videographer.  Really, the oddest thing.  In spite of the commotion, we found plenty of light to work with and then headed over to the railroad tracks, which I also loved!  Thanks for being so photogenic, you guys.  Aren't they adorable?
