Alison and Jesse's session was at the end of a busy weekend full with a wedding and a portrait session prior to their shoot. There was a storm in the forecast and things just looked grey as I looked out my window wondering if the shoot would actually happen. Alison took the lead and confirmed that they would still like to meet so I headed up to Central Park. The moment we walked into the park the most beautiful light broke through and I got the chance to make some of my favorite engagement images thus far. I couldn't have been happier with the way the evening went. Thank you Alison and Jesse for having the clairvoyance to see past the clouds!
I've lost count of how many engagement sessions I've had in the last two weeks and I've also lost count of how many times we had to reschedule this one with Mona and Rishi. I was looking forward to it having shot their engagement party this past winter but the rain would just not give up. We finally got together last week and I was so glad. They are such a sweet couple and were great sports in spite of the heat...and it was HOT. Thanks guys, it was fun seeing you in the city this time!
I had the opportunity to revisit Asbury Park last week, the site of one of my favorite engagement sessions of last year. It was as good as I remembered and I found a few new spots with Kara and Nick. Kara and Nick are such a handsome couple. Nick is always making Kara laugh and she has a beautiful, carefree smile. I can't believe their wedding is in less than two weeks! Can't wait to be on the beach again :)
I ventured over to Jersey City for this lovely couple and explored a new neighborhood. While I had been to Jersey City before, I had never gotten to visit this particular part. Jill and Vander had picked out a charming little cafe, City Hall and several other spots around town. I had a great time and enjoyed the unexpectedly beautiful weather!
I am SO excited to shoot this lovely couple at the Bryant Park Grille. I wish I didn't have to wait a whole year. I truly think that it is one of the most wonderful venues in NYC. The food is fabulous, you can get married on the roof overlooking the park, and it is quintessential New York. When I think of BPG I start imagining pictures on the Carousel, formals in front of the endless rows of trees and the intimate feel of the restaurant by glowing amber light. To add a wonderfully photogenic couple is just icing on the cake.
